Infection Control Nurse/Weekend Nursing Supervisor

Warren General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced registered nurse to serve in a dual-role position as an Infection Control Nurse and Weekend Nursing Supervisor. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating the hospital’s infection prevention and control program while also providing nursing leadership and operational oversight during rotational, weekend supervisory shifts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership ability, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Typical Schedule
Infection Control: Flexible shifts, onsite four days a week
Nursing Supervisor: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) from 8a-8p
Infection Control Responsibilities
Coordinate and maintain the hospital-wide infection prevention and control program
Conduct surveillance, tracking, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections
Monitor compliance with infection prevention policies, hand hygiene, isolation procedures, and regulatory standards
Investigate infection control concerns and outbreaks and assist with implementation of corrective actions
Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, employee health, environmental services, and quality teams to reduce infection risks
Prepare reports and present findings to committees and leadership
Assist with policy development and updates related to infection prevention and regulatory compliance
Provide education and training to employees regarding infection prevention practices
Stay current on CDC, DOH, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory guidelines
Weekend Nursing Supervisor Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for hospital nursing operations
Support nursing staff with clinical decision-making, staffing coordination, patient flow, and conflict resolution
Ensure quality patient care and compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Respond to emergencies, patient concerns, and operational issues as needed
Serve as administrative representative for the hospital during assigned shifts
Collaborate with department leaders and providers to maintain efficient operations and patient satisfaction
Assist with staffing adjustments and resource allocation to support patient care needs
Qualifications
Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience
Previous supervisory, leadership, or charge nurse experience preferred
Infection prevention experience preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
