Detoxification Services

Our goal is to help each individual take the first step to addiction recovery.

Our Program is licensed by the PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs as a 4A level of care to provide medical management to patients age 18 and over, who are withdrawing from alcohol or other substances. We specialize in managing safe withdrawal from Alcohol, Opiates/Pain Medications, and Sedatives.  We do not provide Methadone or Suboxone/Subutex treatment.   To be considered for the program, the individual must have acute withdrawal symptoms and medical and/or emotional issues severe enough to require primary medical and nursing care.  The individual requesting care would present to the Emergency Care Center to request detoxification care.

Staff works with each individual to develop strategies for recovery.  Participation in the detoxification program is voluntary.  To experience success in treatment the individual must be willing to fully participate in our program; which includes individual and group counseling with the addictions counselors.

Our program focuses on collaborating with each individual to identify recovery supports.

Our Recovery Approach

We believe that chemical dependency is a treatable disease.  We use a multidisciplinary approach to treat the whole person.  Our staff and treatment team focuses on working with the individual to rebuild health, happiness and whole health recovery.

Continued Treatment

Discharge planning begins at admission.  Our staff works with each individual to prepare them to return to the environment that will best meet their needs.  We believe that it is important to have supports in place that will help the individual continue to recover.  Prior to discharge, the treatment team will discuss with the individual, any recommendations for follow up care.  Referrals will be made to those providers that the individual chooses for follow up care.

Tobacco Free Environment

Warren General Hospital is a tobacco free facility.  Our physicians work with each individual to provide nicotine supplements when necessary.  Additionally, nicotine cessation counseling is available.
