New WGH visitation policy due to the recent COVID-19 spike

Warren General Hospital will no longer allow visitors. This is out of an abundance of caution due to increased Covid-19 activity in the Warren County area and across the region. Several exceptions will remain in place, including: One support person for surgical patients One support person for ER patients One parent/guardian with a minor child One support person for laboring mothers End-of-life patients may have visitors as permitted by their attending physician WMG, RehabWorks, and Wound Care patients are permitted to have one healthy person accompany them to their appointments Any person entering WGH or WMG must be screened at the entrance and will be required to wear a mask at all times. All support persons must be 18 years of age or older, and the support person must remain the same person throughout the stay. Any patient who is positive or under investigation, for Covid-19, will not be permitted to have visitors at any time. Thank You, WGH.

2020 WGH Auxiliary Angel Giving Tree

During the coming holiday season our beautiful Angel Giving Trees will once holiday grace the Outpatient lobby of the hospital and the lobby of the Cancer Care Center. For a minimum donation of $5.00 per name, you can honor or memorialize a friend or family member, medical professional or a loved one. All of those remembered will be listed in a beautiful calligraphy honor/memorial book placed near the trees in each lobby. You can request an Angel Giving Tree form by calling (814) 723- 4973 ext. 1835; forms are also available at both locations near the honor/memorial books. Extraordinary Nurse Recognized at WGH

On October 27th, 2020 a Maternity/Pediatric Nurse at Warren General Hospital was Honored The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse. The award is part of the DAISY Foundations program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. The fourth DAISY Award recipient at Warren General Hospital is Holly Payne, RN. Holly was nominated by a patient she cared for on the Maternity Unit back in September, 2020. This patient claims she had a procedure done and was having increased pain as well as personal issues in her life. The patient states she knew Holly was very busy but was always pleasant, kind and empathetic. Holly communicated her plan of care and how to get her pain under control. The time Holly took to educate her about the process was vital to her healing progress. The Patient continued to say, As I was crying, Holly took time to sit down, hug me, reassured me and kept me in a positive focus on my recovery. New Health Insurance plans at WGH

GREETINGS from WGH! Over the past few months there has been significant work completed on two very important healthcare insurance plans serving residents in our community. WGH is pleased to announce that we have signed agreements with the following healthcare plans; Pennsylvania Health and Wellness (PA Health and Wellness) - a community Medicaid Managed Care (MCO) Plan. Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA CCN) - a provider choice plan serving veterans in our community.
