Who We Are

Healing is a process we often take for granted. Most people heal in a relatively short period of time: two to three weeks. However, when healing does not proceed normally, a chronic wound may develop. Chronic wounds can result from diabetes, poor- circulation burns or pressure. It is a problem that affects more than ten million Americans.

The Penn North Centers for Advanced Wound Care was founded to address the escalating problem of chronic wounds. Our Wound Care Centers offer state-of-the-art treatment for a wide variety of healing problems. We see hundreds of patients with chronic wounds every week throughout western Pennsylvania and the southern tier of New York. In addition, we participate in research protocols testing the safety and efficacy of the latest advances in wound healing.

Healing Wounds was founded to meet the growing need for advanced wound care and ulcer prevention. The same quality of care provided in our state-of-the-art wound care centers is applied to patients in long term and rehabilitation facilities. However, our service is delivered on site, eliminating the need for difficult and costly transportation to a physician's office.

Healing Wounds ensures expert physician input into the care of every patient. Our services are available on an urgent basis as well: with a 24 hour turn around time for consultation. Urgent and non-urgent services may also be provided using the latest internet based digital technology.
