Your Hospital Team
Medical/Dental Staff
Your physician is responsible for ordering tests and coordinating your care while you are in the hospital. Feel free to discuss any questions
you may have regarding your illness with your physician. There are over 50 physicians on the staff at Warren General Hospital, representing over
20 medical and surgical specialties.
PLEASE NOTE: The majority of physicians will bill separately from the hospital. If you have questions regarding a bill received from your
physician, or a physician on staff, you must contact the physician’s office directly.
Nursing Staff
Our team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants tend to your medical and personal needs 24 hours a day.
Our staff is committed to ongoing education, which is important to meet the patients’ needs. Many are certified in specific fields and
maintain expertise in using state-of-the-art technology.
Housekeeping
A member of the housekeeping staff cleans your room daily. If there is a housekeeping problem in your room, tell your nurse and it will be
taken care of immediately.
Social Workers
The Social Service Department, staffed by qualified social workers, offers help and counseling for any health-related problem to inpatients
and outpatients of Warren General Hospital. The Social Service Department accepts referrals from members of the health care team including
physicians and nurses, as well as from the patient, family member or other interested parties. Social workers will assist the patient
and/or family with any necessary referrals and will coordinate various discharge planning arrangements such as home care and nursing
home placement. Social Services can be contacted by asking your nurse or dialing “0” and asking to speak to a social worker.
Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapy
Your physician may order a physical, occupational, or speech therapy consultation during your stay in the hospital. Should your physician
prescribe therapy, a licensed therapist will evaluate your need for treatment and develop an appropriate plan of care. Our therapy teams
will then work with you to optimize your function, enabling you to be as independent and safe as possible at the time of your discharge
from the hospital.
Pastoral Care
Warren General Hospital believes that total patient care demands attention be given to the spiritual, as well as the physical and
emotional needs of each patient. Our hospital chaplain is available to assist you, whatever your religious tradition. To contact
the chaplain, please call Ext. 1727, or notify your nurse.

Volunteers
There are many types of volunteers at Warren General Hospital. You may have contact with the ‘Red Coats’ who escort you, the
Junior Volunteer in the green shirt who delivers your flowers, or the volunteer in the aqua smock who directs you. Other volunteers,
such as members of the Board of Directors, who form the governing body of the hospital, remain behind the scenes. We are proud of each
one of the men, women, and young people who dedicate nearly 40,000 hours of service each year as volunteers at Warren General Hospital.
Some of our more enthusiastic volunteers first became interested in serving the hospital when they were patients. If you wish to
become a volunteer, call the Volunteer Services Department at Ext. 1835 for additional information.
