Surgical Services

The Surgery Department at Warren General Hospital offers a full range of services for the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of patients requiring surgical attention. The types of surgical procedures performed at the hospital include:

• • Brachytherapy [The implementation of radioactive pellets to treat prostate cancer]
• • Dental / Oral Surgery
• • Ear, Nose, and Throat
• • Endoscopy
• • Lithotripsy
• • Obstetrical / Gynecological
• • Ophthalmology
• • Orthopedic & Sports Medicine
• • Podiatry
• • Thoracic and Vascular
• • Urology

Patients are prepared for surgery (anesthesia, physician consults) in the Same Day Surgery Unit. Once the procedure is complete, the patient recovers in the Recovery Unit. Inpatients are then brought to their room to complete their recovery. Outpatients complete their recovery in the Same Day Surgery Unit, where loved ones can pick them up.

Surgical Services at WGH operates Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Outside of these hours of operation, surgeons are always on call to treat patients in need of emergency assistance.
