Once a diagnosis and treatment plan is underway, many patients, families or caregivers seek additional
support and information. A variety of support groups are active in the region. Please view the adjoining
pages for descriptions and contact information regarding groups that meet at or are affiliated with Warren General Hospital.
If you are a woman in the Warren County area who
is currently dealing with cancer in any form, or if you have already
finished treatment, whether it be last month or 30 years ago, this
group is designed for you. A group has formed that meets the third
Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Cancer Care Center. This
group, which began as a support group for women with breast cancer,
quickly decided that women dealing with cancer, no matter what type,
would benefit from meeting and talking to other women dealing with
similar issues. The meeting is for women only and the information
shared is to be kept confidential.
Informal
groups often meet at local coffee shops or private homes throughout the
month. For more information please contact Linda Loomis at (814) 563-9566 or via e-mail at womenscancersupport@wgh.org or at lindajloomis@gmail.com.
