Dr. AL-Omar received his medical degree from Aleppo University in Syria, in 1996. Upon completing his residency at Teshreen Military Hospital, in 2001, he became a fellow of European Board of Urology, in addition to the Syrian Board of Urology. He fulfilled a fellowship in Andrology (male infertility and erectile dysfunction) at Wayne State University, in Detroit, MI, in 2002. Then he completed a two year fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, at Wayne State University, in Detroit MI. He became a Clinical Instructor in Pediatric Urology, as well as, an Associate Instructor in Andrology while at Harper Hospital at Wayne State University.

Dr. AL-Omar has the latest in urological training, and performs all different types of open and Laparoscopic procedures. These include pediatric, adult minimally invasive procedures, as well as, treating andrologic conditions including male infertility (varicocelectomy), erectile dysfunction (penile prosthetics) and Peyronie’s. He also does laparoscopic hand assisted nephrectomy and minimally invasive treatment for kidney stone disease utilizing Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy.

Dr. Al-Omar was recently published in the book, Urethral Reconstructive Surgery, by Editor Steven B. Brandes. Dr. Brandes is internationally known in the field of reconstructive surgery. According to a web-site review, Urethral Reconstructive Surgery evaluates and manages complex urethral problems and enlightens urologists in a practical manner. Dr. Brandes and his contributors focus on the methods for evaluating the extent and degree of urethral stricture and the decision making process. Additionally, Dr. AL-Omar has co-authored an article related to Priapism on eMedicine for WebMD. His article is an article comprising the largest and most current Clinical Knowledge Base available to physicians and other health care professionals. The evidence-based content, updated regularly, provides the latest practice guidelines. eMedicine's professional content undergoes 4 levels of physician peer review plus an additional review by a PharmD prior to publication. Dr. AL-Omar co-authored the chapter specific to “Complications of Urethroplasty” along with senior author Rich A. Santucci. Dr. AL-Omar was on faculty at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan while working on text with Dr. Santucci. He is now serving in Warren County as an experienced board certified urologist.

His office is located in the Pine Grove Ambulatory Center at 10 Timberview Lane Suite in Russell, Pennsylvania. At WGH, Dr AL-Omar partners with Dr. Leroy Korb at the Cancer Care Center at Warren General, in Seed Brachytherapy for the minimum invasive treatment of prostate cancer.
