Hospice of Warren County

Founded in 1979, the Hospice of Warren County program is a non-profit, Medicare certified, affiliate of Warren General Hospital. This program strives to provide optimal comfort and quality of life to any terminally-ill patient who:

  • Resides in Warren County or the surrounding area
  • Has approval of his or her physician
  • Has a life expectancy of 6 months or less if the illness runs its normal course
  • Has a family member or other appropriate person available to assist with continuing care needs and decision-making processes
  • Has changed the medical goal from curative to comfort treatment
  • Has knowledge of prognosis and has consented to care

Services Offered

The Hospice program offers the following services for adults and children:

  • Physician-directed team care
  • Regularly scheduled nursing visits, plus 24/7 on-call availability
  • Hospice aides

  • Social work services, including help with financial and family needs
  • Spiritual and emotional support
  • Support from specially trained volunteers
  • Family counseling and training in patient care
  • Medical equipment and supplies
  • Hospice prescriptions
  • Speech, physical and occupational therapies
  • Dietician, barber, beautician, and expressive therapies (art, massage, music, pet, reiki)
  • Coordination with community services
  • Bereavement counseling and support

 

Hospice of Warren County also offers the following additional services:

  • Palliative Care Service
  • Grief and Loss Support
  • John and Orpha Blair Hospice Residence
